Tomato Basil Fat Burning Soup

Tomatoes simply don’t get enough credit for the powerful superfood that they are. They might appear to be just a humble hamburger topping or main ingredient to ketchup, but tomatoes on their own are in fact a powerful fat burning food.

In fact, a recent study conducted in Japan has shown that tomatoes contain a powerful substance that has been shown to promote healthy fat burning. This substance, knowns as 13-oxo-ODA, has been able to activate the DNA associated with fat burning. This study has only be completed with mice thus far, and although the trials are positive, is has yet to be ruled effective on humans due to lack of testing. Complement a recipe like tomato basil soup mentioned in this post with fat burning supplement like biotrust leptiburn, you can speed up your fat loss process.

With that being said, there are plenty of proven reasons why tomatoes can help aid your weight loss efforts!

How Tomatoes Aid in Fat Burning

Tomatoes stabilize blood sugar levels

The ability of tomatoes to keep your blood sugar levels stable is a result of the amount of chromium and fiber found in them. Tomatoes also contain biotin, an essential B-vitamin. With stable blood sugar you will not only feel fuller longer, leading to less snack binges and overeating, but you will also end the blood sugar roller coaster ride that often time results in mood swings, lack of concentration, poor memory and a craving for sugar.

Tomatoes boost energy

Tomatoes contain a large amount of biotin, an essential water soluble B-vitamin that provides the body with energy. Without these essential B-vitamins, the body’s enzymes don’t work well. As a result of this you may experience low energy and low blood sugar levels. With tomatoes boosting your B-vitamin levels, you will be more energized to be more active throughout the day as well as through a workout routine.

Tomatoes aid in detoxification

Detoxifying helps to flush fat from the fat cells in the body, as well as cleanses any junk that might be slowing your body’s systems down. Tomatoes provide detox help through the incredible amounts of the antioxidants vitamin A and vitamin C, which help to protect the body from free radical damage.

Other Fat Burning Ingredients

There’s more to this fat burning soup than just tomatoes. Garlic is yet another hidden health boosting ingredient that plays an important role. Though not necessarily a fat burner, garlic has been shown to have a positive effect on blood cholesterol levels. Garlic seems to also have a positive effect on lowering unhealthy fats in the blood, which can contribute to an overall healthy cholesterol level.

Though only a small amount is added, chili powder is another fat burning ingredient in this soup. Chili powder contains capsaicin, the chemical compound that gives both fresh and dried chilis their spice.

A study published in 2010 in the “International Journal of Obesity” showed that capsaicin, along with caffeine, increased fat oxidation and energy expenditure. Both increased fat oxidation and increased energy expenditure can vastly aid weight loss efforts.
