5 Coffee Smoothies That Will Make Your Morning Better

I love coffee, I brew a full french press of it every morning. I also happen to love smoothies, and I have a weird obsession of combining foods that would make other people’s stomachs turn.

 

Okay, combining smoothies and coffee isn’t really that weird, but if you haven’t thought of it before here are my 5 favorite recipes to start your day off right with a coffee flavored smoothie.

If you have brewed coffee on hand, great. You may need to chill it in the fridge (or freezer if you’re short on time) so it doesn’t heat up your other ingredients. If you’re planning on making a coffee smoothie you may want to brew it the night before and put it in the fridge, or do a cold brew and leave it in the fridge over night.

Another option is to take your brewed coffee and fill up an ice cube tray with the coffee, and put the coffee ice cubes into your blender with the rest of your ingredients.

1. Banana Pancake Coffee Smoothie

This is a great one, full of natural ingredients, oats, and of course coffee.

  • 1/2c milk
  • 2tbsp oats
  • 1tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2c cold coffee or equivalent coffee ice cubes
  • 1 banana - can be frozen or not
  • A few ice cubes (not necessary if using coffee ice cubes)
  • Cinnamon to taste

Blend the first three ingredients together, then add the rest. Add cinnamon to taste.

2. Cherry coffee blast smoothie

Coffee is full of anti-oxidants, and so are cherries. This super charged, caffeine containing smoothie will help you kick mornings in the butt.

  • 3/4c cherries - fresh or frozen
  • 3/4c almond milk, or other milk product
  • 1/2 c cold coffee or equivalent coffee ice cubes
  • 1/2tsp vanilla to taste

Blend all the ingredients until the desired consistency is reached. Add additional ice cubes as necessary!

3. Coconut Coffee Whip

Coconut and coffee go great together - the strong coffee flavors and rich coconut were made for eachother.

  • ​1 can of coconut milk
  • 1c of leftover coconut water from can
  • 1 banana, frozen or not
  • 1/2c coffee or equivalent coffee ice cubes
  • Coconut flakes for texture

Blend the first four ingredients, add coconut flakes for texture, and what’s great about this recipe is you could add in some vanilla or unflavored protein for a protein boost!

4. Caramel Macchiato Frappe

This is a really simple recipe using only 3 ingredients that takes moments to prepare.

  • 1c milk
  • 1c coffee or equivalent coffee ice cubes
  • 2 dates
  • Cinnamon to taste

Blend it all together, and add cinnamon to taste!

5. Chunky monkey coffee smoothie

I saved the best for last! Chocolate peanut butter, coffee, how can you go wrong with this combo?!

  • ​3/4c milk
  • 1/2c coffee or equivalent coffee ice cubes
  • 1 banana
  • 1tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1tbsp peanut butter

Blend everything except the PB until smooth, then add the PB and finish it off to the desired consistency. Enjoy!
